Changes to MiDAS Standard from February 2024

The Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme is a training course set up for those who drive minibuses for ‘not for hire or reward’ organisations such as schools, colleges, care homes, youth and church organisations.

There are two types of course available, Standard and Accessible and it is the Standard course that is changing.

The theory part of the course is moving to an on-line training course accessed through the online portal. You can access the online portal by receiving a pass from us at 5 Counties MiDAS Driver Training.

The Theory course will take about 90 minutes to complete. On successful completion of the on-line course, the practical driving assessments can then be taken, these are on a one-to-one basis and are designed initially to discuss any issues raised on the theory course and to discuss the driver’s requirements followed by a warm up drive, then the assessment. We allow 90 minutes per person for this session.

On successful completion of the theory and practical, an on-line certificate will be issued. The driver will have access to the CTA advice and up to date information via their sign in code for 4 years.

Accessible Course

If it`s the Accessible course you require, the standard course will be delivered as above and then we would come to deliver the Accessible element face to face. For further information on our Accessible course please click here.
