Types of Training

We carry out many types of training but our two most popular courses are the MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) and our Driver Assessment Training. All our training takes place at your site in your own vehicle with one of our dedicated driver trainers coming to you for a mixture of classroom learning and practical on the road driving. We are happy to fit around your already busy schedules and can make dates and timings work for you. For information on all the training we offer see other training above.

The Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) is administered by the Community Transport Association. The scheme provides a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of Minibus & MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) drivers. The scheme is available to any organisation who use Minibuses & MPV’s and 5 Counties MiDAS Driver Training have been appointed as DATS (Driver Assessor Trainers).

Our Driver Risk Assessments are an alternative to the MiDAS course and can be tailored to your requirements. They again take place at your site in your own vehicle with one of our driver trainers. We will assess the drivers by a mixture of initial assessment, corrective coaching (if needed) and then assessment again until the end of the drive. A detail report will be sent to each driver together with a risk level ranging from LOW to HIGH. The risk level awarded will determine how long it will be until their next assessment. A certificate will also be issued with a valid expiry date on it.
